WatchFile Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 29, 2026
Key statement: WatchFile is a file transfer app for sending files from iPhone to Apple Watch. Files are transferred with Apple's WatchConnectivity framework and saved locally on your watch. We do not operate a file-transfer server and we do not sell your personal information. The iPhone app uses Google AdMob rewarded ads before file transfer.
1. Data We May Process
When you use WatchFile, the app may process the following data:
- Files you select: images, text files, videos, music, and other files you choose to send from iPhone to Apple Watch.
- File metadata: file name, file size, file type, modified time, category, and transfer status used to show and manage your watch file list.
- Transfer data: file chunks, temporary transfer records, progress, and resume information used to continue interrupted transfers.
- Local preferences: app language setting and basic connection status between iPhone and Apple Watch.
- Advertising data: Google AdMob may process device, ad interaction, diagnostic, and related data to load and measure rewarded ads.
2. How We Use Data
- To transfer selected files from iPhone to Apple Watch.
- To save, display, rename, and delete files stored on Apple Watch.
- To resume interrupted transfers without restarting from the beginning.
- To sync app language settings between iPhone and Apple Watch.
- To show rewarded ads that unlock one file transfer after each completed ad reward.
- To maintain app functionality, troubleshoot failures, and provide user support.
3. Storage and Transmission
Files transferred to Apple Watch are stored locally in the app's container on the watch. During transfer, the iPhone may temporarily copy the selected file and the watch may keep partial files and resume records until the transfer finishes or fails. File transfer occurs between your iPhone and Apple Watch through WatchConnectivity and does not pass through our servers.
4. Third-Party Services and System Frameworks
We use the following system frameworks and third-party services:
- WatchConnectivity: provided by Apple, used for pairing, messaging, file chunks, file list sync, rename, and delete commands between iPhone and Apple Watch.
- File Import: provided by Apple, used to let you choose files on iPhone.
- Google AdMob: used to show rewarded ads before transfers. Google's processing is governed by Google's own privacy policy and advertising technologies.
We do not use LocalSend discovery, do not expose a public LocalSend receiver, and do not accept files from generic LocalSend clients.
5. Children and Teens
If a minor uses the app, we recommend use under parent or guardian guidance. Guardians should supervise the files transferred to the watch.
6. Managing Your Data
- You can delete files stored on Apple Watch from the app.
- You can rename files stored on Apple Watch from the app.
- You can remove local data by deleting the iPhone app and Watch app from your devices.
- Advertising-related choices may be managed through iOS privacy settings and Google advertising controls where available.
7. Changes to This Policy
If our data practices, feature scope, or use of third-party services changes, we will update this page. For material changes, we may also provide an in-app notice.
